WATCH: SpaceX Launch of South Korean Military Satellite

American News Hard News

The Anasis-II satellite is set to launch with the help of a history-making rocket booster today. SpaceX has had a run of Falcon 9 delays lately, with both a Starlink and Anasis-II mission launch postponed.

Anasis-II is a South Korean military satellite. The mission was originally scheduled to launch on July 14th. SpaceX announced it was pushing back blast-off just a day before launch.

SpaceX had also delayed its latest Starlink launch on July 8th and then again on July 11th. The Anasis-II mission will lift off from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

The new launch window opens at 5pm ET Monday and closes just hours later.

You can watch the broadcast live, via SpaceX’s YouTube channel, below. The team behind the account at SpaceX usually begins streaming around 15 minutes prior to each launch.

This is South Korea’s first military communications satellite. Because of its use in the military, there’s not a lot of information about it.
