The XFL’s Vipers Have Signed Suspended Cleveland Browns WR Antonio Callaway

Former Cleveland Browns receiver Antonio Callaway received a 10-game suspension for violation of the NFL’s substance abuse policy back in November. Subsequently, the Browns cut him from the team after less than two seasons. On Thursday, the Tampa Bay Vipers of the newly reformed XFL announced that they had added Callaway via waivers.

Callaway compiled 51 receptions for 675 yards and five touchdowns in 20 games in Cleveland. He played at Florida from 2015-17. The XFL, which features eight teams, begins play on February 8th. The 10-week regular season runs until mid-April and will be followed by a four-team playoff.
