A full schedule of Imperial Valley High School Football kicks off this week and KXO Radio will be a part of the season.
Buckley and Driffill have been a part of Friday night football for 40 years and are looking forward to the new season. The game will be broadcast live on KXO AM1230 and also be available live on the KXO YouTube channel . Subscription to the KXO YouTube channel is free.
Other games scheduled for Friday night include the Central Spartans hosting Mt. Carmel at Cal Jones Field. Vincent Memorial Catholic High School will be at San Diego High School. Calexico will host Palo Verde Valley and the Brawley Wildcats travel to San Diego to play at Mater Dei Catholic High School. The Imperial High School Tigers have a first week bye and will start the season on Friday, August 27 at West Hills High School in Santee. Mickey Dale and George Grijalva will broadcast all of the Tigers games on the KXO website www.kxoradio.com.
Imperial Valley League play will begin on Friday, October 1 as will Desert League action. A slight realignment will see the Palo Verde Yellowjackets move from the Imperial Valley League to the Manzanita League. One of the highlights this year will be a visit from the Del Valle High School of El Paso , Texas. Del Valle will reciprocate with a game against the Central Spartans. The two teams met two years ago in an emotional game in El Paso following a tragic mass murder in the Texas city.
