Today’s video breaks down my top-three things that would need to occur in order for the Dolphins not to find themselves as a playoff team at the end of the ’22 regular season. The front office has found a coach (Mike McDaniel) that supports Tua Tagovailoa. Along with last year’s first-round pick in Jaylen Waddle, the team has also surrounded Tua with added playmakers in the form of Tyreek Hill, Cedric Wilson, Raheem Mostert and Chase Edmonds (not to mention bring back Mike Gesicki on the franchise tag). And the team’s defense is basically still in tact from last year’s squad (featuring Xavien Howard, Emmanuel Ogbah and Jaelan Phillips to name a few), which we anticipate to look similar to the 2021 defense based on the defensive coordinator (Josh Boyer) remaining the same. Anything short of the playoffs would be considered a failure in my eyes, but the playoffs won’t come easy as several teams in the AFC have made their own significant moves this offseason to compete for the seven playoff spots.
