A 36-year-old accountant and emergency backup goalie, Scott Foster made his NHL debut following a flurry of injuries to the Chicago Blackhawks. What the crowd and franchise wren’t ready for was a show stopping performance.
Foster stymied all seven shots he faced, effectively preserving the Blackhawks’ 6-2 victory and stealing the spotlight for the night in the Windy City of Chicago. It’s insane to think about thought.
The whole thing sounds like a hallmark or a made for TV movie. Foster is an accountant and beer league legend, that signed for the Chicago Blackhawks as an emergency goalkeeper with no intention of getting on the ice.
As fate would have it, Foster entered that fateful game against the Carolina Hurricanes. Then, out of nowhere, he was nothing short of dominant.
Foster hasn’t played an NHL game since, but he is forever a Blackhawks legend due to that one game.
