Chuaro’s parents were ministers of the African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E) Church in South Africa. They went to church every Sunday. At church, Chuaro’s dad would always start the service by reading the Ten Commandments from the Bible. After reading each commandment, the congregation would respond by chanting a verse asking God to help them keep that commandment.
