If you thought Indiana was a one hit wonder, think again. The Hoosiers surprised the country last year by going 6-2 and making the Outback Bowl before falling to Ole Miss. Tom Allen’s squad now returns 17 starters for a team that is looking to not just win the Big Ten East, but possibly crash the College Football Playoff. The offense is loaded with QB Michael Penix returning from an ACL injury and Ty Fryfogle leading the way as the top WR. The Hoosiers just need to focus on finding a run game after averaging just a little over 100 RYPG in 2020. The defense does lose DC Kane Wommack, but returns 8 starters including star LB Micah McFadden. Don’t expect the Hoosiers to take a step back defensively. If anything they could take a step forward. The schedule is tough with road games at Iowa, Penn State, and Michigan along with home dates against Cincinnati and Ohio State. But the game against the Buckeyes could very well determine the Big Ten East. A goal that Tom Allen firmly believes his team will achieve in 2021.
