This week on the Rewind, Zlaner’s Twitch Rivals ban, Ninja’s big decline, and Twitch Rivals gets hacked.-
Zlaner was streaming with his duo, Dr Disrespect, when he found out he was ineligible for the big $75,000 Twitch Rivals Warzone Showdown. Immediately, Zlaner and Doc assumed it was because Twitch was upset that Z had cosplayed as Dr Disrespect during the last Rivals event. A Twitch Rivals rep later came forward and said they had no idea why Zlaner was ineligible, and that he should have been allowed to play.
Ninja got 30 million dollars for his failed experiment on mixer, but ever since his return, his Twitch channel seems to have been steadily dying. During a recent Twitch stream with Ninja playing Fortnite along with Bugha and TheGrefg, 3 huge creators all with their own skins, he was not only getting under 10k viewers…but his chat in sub mode was barely moving, sometimes going a full minute between responses. It was a very stark reminder that leaving Twitch may have got Ninja paid, but it doesn’t seem to have helped his popularity.
And finally, the same event that Twitch Rivals banned Zlaner from attending wound up being hacked by someone who was actually invited. It was so bad that the $75k Warzone event had to be completely restarted, all because they invited a hacker and kept letting him play and stream for multiple games after he was reported. Those stories and much more on this week’s Esports
