Also revealed is that very few tickets remaining for the promotion’s first-ever all-women pay-per-view EmPowerrr, which will also take place at the Khorassan Ballroom inside the legendary Chase Park Plaza Hotel.
What’s on the books for EmPowerrr?
The fight card for NWA 73 is still being worked on, so let’s look at the card so far for EmPowerrr:
- NWA World Women’s Champion Kamille will take on All Elite Wrestling’s “Legit” Leyla Hirsch in a singles match with the championship on the line.
- There will be a tag-team match for the vacant NWA World Women’s Tag Team Championship. This would be the first time the championship has been contested since its retirement on April 4, 1984. The last champions at the time of vacating and retiring the title were Joyce Grable and Wendi Richter. Grable won the titles three times with Vicki Williams in 1973, 1977, and 1978 for a combined 725+ days. (Due to unrecorded title history during two of those reigns, the official count remains unknown.) She also won that same title three times with Richter in 1980, 1982, and 1983 for a combined 1,424 days (although officially recorded at 1,418 days) when the title history was better recorded.
- The Impact Knockouts Championship will be on the line as the title is on the line before the PPV. The winner between current champion Deonna Purrazzo and Faby Apache will defend the title against Melina Perez.
- The Women’s Invitational Cup is still ongoing, so by the time the show gets closer, we will then know who will face off against Chelsea Green.
- It is currently unknown as to whether the AEW World Women’s Championship, currently held by Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., will be in contention at this show. (Although, seeing three women’s championships from partnering promotions would be great!)
On tap for NWA 73
This is what we currently know what’s on tap at NWA 73:
- Mickie James will be in action against an opponent to be announced.
- The NWA Women’s title will once again be on the line, as the winner at EmPowerrr will defend against an unspecified opponent.
- Nick Aldis’ World Championship is on the line in a matchup that also has Trevor Murdoch’s NWA career on the line, all with the 10 Pounds of Gold on the line.
