WEST POINT, GA. (SESN) — The Point University Men’s soccer team returned to the pitch against former Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Reinhardt University where the match ended in a draw. Within the first 20 seconds, Mortiz Dalpiaz attempted to get Point’s offense started with a blocked shot. Following the missed opportunity, Reinhardt tried to strike with two shots of their own coming up empty. Both teams could not put the pressure on for the rest of the half.
After the break, there was an onslaught of fouls and missed shots by both competitors. Point took nine shots with three on goal whereas Reinhardt took 10 shots with four on goal. In goal, Simon Niksch added 4 saves in the contest. The Skyhawks will return to the field against NCAA Division III Lagrange College in a cross-town battle of Troup County on Tuesday, September 3 at the River Bowl Stadium starting at 7:00 P.M.
