In a remarkable display of skill and determination, the Reinhardt Eagles soared to victory, securing a series sweep against the Johnson Royals. The action-packed weekend was highlighted by a dramatic comeback win in game two and a smooth shutout in game three, showcasing the Eagles’ prowess both on the mound and at the plate.

The doubleheader kicked off with Alex Galvez taking the mound for the Eagles. Despite a slight hiccup in his performance, Galvez, with a season record of 4-1 and a 2.48 ERA, managed to keep the Eagles in the game. Relief pitcher Cobey Allison and Brett Allen stepped in, displaying remarkable skill to halt the Royals’ advance and set the stage for a late-game rally. The Eagles’ offense came alive in the bottom of the eighth, spearheaded by home runs from Dylan Lewis and Nash Crowell, securing an 8-4 victory.

All-American and AAC Pitcher of the Week, Andrew Herbert, showcased his elite pitching skills in the second game, leading the Eagles to an 8-0 shutout. Herbert’s performance, allowing no runs and striking out five, was a testament to his recovery and dominance post-injury. Ryan Mahoney closed the game with impressive pitching, ensuring the Eagles’ victory.

The Eagles demonstrated their offensive might throughout the series, with notable performances from Tucker Zdunich, Jarrett Burney, and Adrian Vargas. The team’s ability to score runs in crucial moments, coupled with standout home runs, highlighted their strategic and powerful hitting.

With the regular season heading into its final weeks, the Eagles’ hot bats and solid pitching lineup position them as formidable contenders in the AAC Tournament and NAIA Nationals. The team is set to face Montreat in a single game on Monday afternoon, followed by an AAC series with Bryan College over the weekend.
