During Wednesday afternoon’s NFL game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens, NBC’s Cris Collinsworth made a comment which upset some viewers.
The comment was construed as condescending to a lot of people and he was blasted for it online. Tweets poured in from around the country and many different viewers.
“Everyone’s a fan,” Collinsworth said. “In particular, the ladies I got. They asked really specific questions about the game. I was like wow, just blown away…”
Hours later, Collinsworth took to social media and released a statement explaining the situation.

Often this happens in broadcasting. When you have to go on for hours at a time, it’s easy for one to make mistakes. I’m thankful I haven’t done anything like this, though I don’t believe I ever will.
