The Chattanooga women’s soccer team fell 1-0 at Jacksonville State in the final exhibition match of the preseason. The Gamecocks scored the lone goal of the match in the 42nd minute, creasing the top left corner of the net.
Jacksonville State edged the Mocs 12-10 on shots and UTC had the advantage on corner kicks 7-4. Abbey Saddler started in the net for Chattanooga and pulled in six saves while freshman Caroline Ekern snared two.
Chattanooga opens the season Thursday, August 18 on the road at UAB. The match is slated to kick off at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. The Mocs open the season at home on August 21 at the UTC Sports Complex. Admission is free to all Mocs home events.
