Adrian College Bulldogs Score Seven Goals in First Period to Win 10-0 Over Finlandia

The Adrian College women’s hockey team finished its trip to Finlandia with a 10-0 win. The Bulldogs netted seven goals in the first period to pull ahead the rest of the way.

On the weekend, Adrian scored 17 goals and allowed zero against the Finlandia Lions.

It didn’t take long for the Bulldogs to get on the board as Jacqueline White scored 50 seconds into the game to give an early 1-0 lead. Under two minutes later, Abbie Grias found the back of the net off of assists from Sydney Daversa and Maggie Mitter. Thirty-five seconds later Brianna Buchanan scored a power play goal to go up 3-0.

The Bulldogs scored four more times in the first period by two goals from Nicole Guagliardo, a goal from Brooke Schembri, and Buchanan’s second goal of the game.

Adrian didn’t let up in the second period as Mitter found the net to take an 8-0 lead. With the Bulldogs on another power play, White scored her second of the game to lead by nine. With under four minutes remaining in the second period, Jessica Anderson scored to put Adrian in double digits and win the game.

Mia Glassco faced ten shots on goal and saved all ten to help Adrian to another shutout. After her power play goal in the second period, Jacqueline White reached 100 points for her college career.

The Bulldogs return home for more NCHA action as they host Lake Forest of February 1 at 7:00 PM.
