Louisville took a major step in the wrong direction by going from 8-5 in 2019 to 4-7 in 2020 and then had to deal with off field drama with Head Coach Scott Satterfield. Sitting at 12-12 in two years with the program, Satterfield needs to get his team back to the postseason to calm the fan base and get things back on track. That all starts on the offensive side of the ball. Louisville loses leading rusher Jackson Hawkins and their top two receivers in Dez Fitzpatrick and Tutu Atwell. QB Micale Cunningham must take better care of the football (15 turnovers last year) and build chemistry with new receivers to see the offense return to form. The defense improved in 2020 and actually had the #1 passing defense in the ACC, allowing just 189.2 PYPG. If they continue to do that and improve a little on stopping the run, the Cardinals have the schedule and the talent to make the postseason for the second time in three years under Satterfield.
