There’s quintessentially no question that quarterback Joe Burrow will be taken with the no. 1 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft. But which team will draft the budding superstar appears to perhaps still be in question.
The Cincinnati Bengals currently own the first overall pick after beating out the Dolphins in their own game of tanking last season. Though the Bengals are also in need of a QB, and have expressed interest in Burrow, the Dolphins may try to get the pick away from the franchise.
According to the Miami Herald’s Armando Salguero, Miami has interest in trading up for the LSU quarterback come draft day.
“They’re making moves and spending money but people within the organization remain focused on the goal of drafting a quarterback in the first round of the 2020 draft,” wrote Armando Salguero
“The Dolphins want to trade up to grab Joe Burrow with the first overall selection, if possible. They will make that attempt,” continued Armando Salguero.
Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert will be targeted by the Dolphins if that offer falls through.
Burrow had one of the greatest seasons by a collegiate quarterback ever last year. He won the Heisman Trophy, the National Championship trophy and even the National Championship game MVP award.
