Laurent Duvernay-Tardif is back after sitting out in 2020 to help with the fight against COVID-19. Charvarius Ward and Frank Clark were in attendance as well. DeAndre Baker is at minicamp, but he’s still nursing a femur injury. Kyle Long was not in the building as he’s injured. Armani Watts and Martinas Rankin did not show up for undisclosed reasons.
Mecole Hardman enters his 3rd season with the Chiefs with major expectations. With Sammy Watkins gone, Hardman projects as the #2 wide receiver this year. Can he ascend to that level behind Tyreek Hill? Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense need a reliable WR opposite of Hill and if Hardman can’t step up, perhaps DeMarcus Robinson, Byron Pringle or rookie Cornell Powell can.
