A series of tweets from local reporters indicated some bigger news is yet to come out of Washington and the NFL today. Shortly after it was announced that the Washington football team team would no longer be known as the Redskins, the tweets began to hint something more was yet to come.
John Gonzalez of ABC Washington tweeted that the team’s name change will be “old news” after a “bombshell report” is dropped. It all started Sunday night and it has continued since.
Working my sources but apparently changing of the Redskins name will be old news come tomorrow when a bombshell report is expected to surface. There’s growing buzz that unflattering news about organization could come out in just hours. We will be live with the latest on @ABC7GMW pic.twitter.com/zTK19dV4Mo

“A real busy week,” said JP Finlay of NBC on Twitter. “And it’s not all going to be about the name and it’s not all going to be pretty,” he continued.

“What’s coming is disappointing and sad,” said Julie Donaldson in response to one Twitter user. The user had replied to a tweet she had made previously regarding Kelvin Harmon.

“Team source tells me Santos’ departure is “non-football” related, but would not elaborate,” tweeted out Chick Hernandez of NBC Sports Washington.
Redskins fired Alex Santos, the director of pro personnel, and Richard Mann II, the asst. dir. of pro personnel Saturday. @BenStandig first to report. Team source tells me Santos’ departure is “non-football” related, but would not elaborate. Gut tells me we’ll know why soon

It’s difficult to figure out exactly what’s going on, but there seems to be something to this string of tweets. Mike Florio of PFT tweeted that there have been rumors about an article from the Washington post that “could cause problem for the franchise.”
There have been currently plenty of rumblings in recent days about a new article from the @washingtonpost that could cause some problems for the Washington franchise. https://t.co/fPt5p8MmNV

I can’t elaborate much more than pure speculation, which I won’t do. So we’ll leave it at that. A series of ominous tweets indicating that the worst may be coming out of Washington.
We’ll keep an eye on any developments and pass them on to you.
