The East Hamilton Hurricanes knocked off Portland’s Panthers on the road in a tight contest on Friday. The Hurricanes (2-0) will now prepare for their game against East Ridge. The Pioneers come into the non-league game with a 0-2 record. In their last game, East Ridge was dropped by Stone Memorial, 47-21, in a non-league game.
The Panthers now hold a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Northwest for a 5A Region 7 game on Friday, September 3. Portland will battle a Vikings team coming off a 33-0 non-league loss to West Creek. The Vikings record now stands at 0-2.
